Welcome Message

No New Posts Welcome to the RollerTrol™ Forum!

We'd like to thank all of you that have contributed to the success of our RollerTrol™ product line. We hope the addition of this community forum will be a helpful addition to our support system, adding to the information already available on our main website.

Please note that we have 'future proofed' our radio motors with a system for Vera™ (or Homeseer™) that can learn RF codes. Vera™ and VeraLite™ are powerful home automation controllers that run as a web server on your local LAN and/or wifi network. You can control your home with smartphone, tablet, PC from anywhere. They can be used simply as local controllers, but they can also be accessed remotely from any location via browser using a secure encrypted system. More info can be seen here:

RollerTrol™ Blind Motors: extend remote control with USB transmitter

We have created a few key categories below, please feel free to post messages and questions to your topic of choice, once you have become a member.

Please check out our new motor products page for recent additions to our product line like our built-in rechargeable battery motors and our 'MAXI' heavy lift motor series (good for lifting heavy aquarium lids, etc.).

All suggestions will be welcomed as we develop this community resource.

Regards, Adrian

What is the best home automation system?

No New Posts Choosing a home automation system

This category will probably have some robust discussions. Let's hear your views regarding powerline vs RF, etc etc. Anyone for Zigbee® vs Zwave®? Any Crestron® users out there?

Is anyone an Arduino® fan like me??

Yep, we still use x10® in our home. It isn't perfect but it has worked well for me since 1975.

In order to further support and extend our radio motors, we deliberated and studied the market for a number of years before we chose Vera as our premium home automation controller, and there is a long list of reasons why we think it is the very best choice for complete home automation.

Vera and VeraLite are powerful home automation controllers that run as a web server on your local lan and/or wifi network. They can be used simply as local controllers, but they can also be accessed remotely from any location via browser using a secure encrypted system. More info can be seen here:

Vera & RollerTrol Blind Motors

The Vera system is capable of learning the RollerTrol RF codes, and is also x10 compatible, so it provides a way to migrate from x10 without changing everything all at once.

Cheers, Adrian
